My yoga journey began just after college; I was wide-eyed and open, yet trying to figure out who I was in the world.  Having a reflective mind and being an avid skier and cyclist, yoga was the perfect portal in for me to understand my heart’s desires and my physical body on a deeper level.

With yoga, I learned how to take care of my aches and pains, and how to keep my head on straight!

I have always been a teacher.  I started yoga programs in the two high schools where I taught math, and after 22 years took the leap to follow my heart and opened Bhava Yoga Studio in Albuquerque, NM.  With Bhava, my passion for yoga as therapeutic practice continued to evolve and I offered therapeutic classes, workshops and clinics, as well as teacher trainings.

Today I see clients privately in Santa Fe, NM, and have also created a Functional Yoga Therapy curriculum, Body of Bliss™, that is the knowledge base for my trainings, retreats and workshops.

My enthusiasm for health and my commitment to service are why I teach.

In my teaching, I foster a playful, focused and supportive environment for learning, and empower my students to step into their personal journey, be it for self-healing or for sharing yoga’s gifts with others.

I was Anusara yoga certified from 2004 -2012, and am currently certified with the International Association of Yoga Therapists and Yoga Tune Up® Fitness Therapy.  I am also registered with the Yoga Alliance at the E-RYT 500 level.

More importantly though, I am an avid student of the body, physically and spiritually, and of my teaching.  I am eternally grateful for the teachers, too many to list here, who have guided, cajoled and held me up along the way.  May I be that support for you.

DYT™ Is a movement therapy that utilizes anatomical alignment, biomechanics, self-massage and self-awareness techniques to improve and restore health and function to the body.

After a thorough postural and movement pattern assessment, Bea recommends and teaches a practice plan for restoring and realigning the body for optimal health and movement ability.

With this work, you will develop a deeper and more meaningful mind-body connection that informs your journey towards improved health and well-being.  The postures that you’ll learn are related to yoga, and are designed to help you know how to explore, retrain and realign movement. Inherent in the work is emphasis on specific strengthening and stretching exercises.

No prior yoga experience is needed to effectively employ Dynamic Yoga Therapeutic practices, only the desire and motivation to help yourself move freely again.

My knee is literally 100% healed!  I tell the story of how you helped me every time I meet someone about to have knee surgery.  I am eternally grateful for your gift of healing and knowledge.

Paul O’Conner

I suffered from two herniated discs in my neck and was in excruciating pain.  In a series of private sessions, Bea taught me simple exercises to relieve my pain and strengthen my muscles.  I regained enough strength and flexibility to begin taking regular yoga classes.
